It might be a separate topic, but I prefer to use existing posts.
I 100% agree that including simple defaults in a template would help.
My typical flow is:
- open the entry
- place timestamp
- apply template
- add location
- fill the entry
- add tags etc.
I'm sure that adding two more checkboxes at the bottom of the template editor would eliminate points 2 and 4 without adding too much complexity.
I would locate the following next to the current "Default template" one:
"Add a timestamp" - for adding the timestamp as a first-line in the entry.
"Add location" - to do the same as location click, but upon applying the template.
Templates are such a gamechanger for me, but this would make them even more satisfying. It would also eliminate the slight problem of placing the timestamp at the bottom if created after the template.
