Unable to delete a block of selected text

Hello, I am using Diarium on Windows 10.
I found that if I were to highlight a certain text, I am unable to delete them as a selection. This mean i have to resort to manually deleting them one by one. Is there something that I am missing? How am I able to do this?

Diarium version: 2.8.0.0
Operating system: Windows 10, Android, IOS

Looks like a bug, will look into it!
As a workaround you can use the "cut" shortcut (CTRL+X)/option.

EDIT: I was able to reproduce this bug and it appears this is a bug introduced by a library I am using. I opened a bug report there: https://github.com/microsoft/microsoft-ui-xaml/issues/5843

Also, when you select text and try to replace it with a space, it just bolds the selected text instead

I have experienced the same issue. As a temporary work-around, just move the cursor away from the selected text. The pop-up formatting box will disappear and you can then proceed normally.

Also tapping the ESC key closes the formatting box, allowing use of Delete / Backspace button.
Still a pain, but its a workaround.

Unfortunately not. As I said, I can't do much here other than hope Microsoft fixes this soon 🙁
